Sonore String Quartet is formed of a highly experienced group of players – we have over 130 years of professional music making between us and are a highly regarded, award winning, friendly, professional & versatile quartet, trio or duo to make your event sparkle.
We believe that every event and occasion is unique and we take pride in working with you to create the perfect musical atmosphere for your civil or church wedding ceremony, drinks reception, dinner party or any other occasion you may be hosting. As long established performers, we are highly skilled at ‘reading’ our audiences and adapt to this with the pieces we play. Sonore String Quartet carry a huge range of music with us and can usually respond to ‘ad hoc’ requests from your guests. Many other event professionals comment on the depth and quality of our sound and the range of styles we perform.
Having trained at some of the top institutions and with nationally and internationally renowned conductors and musicians, we have over 120 years of professional music making between us. We are a fun loving group who are always professional in our appearance and attitude and most importantly, we love and enjoy what we do.
We have a wide-ranging repertoire and are equally at home playing everything from well-known classics to current RnB and rock and pop music. from popular baroque and classical pieces, through to easy listening / more jazzy numbers, 80s/90s ballads and other classics; as well as current chart hits. We are also able to arrange songs so if there is something you would really like us to play but we don’t have then we will arrange it, especially for your event.
We are available as a quartet, a trio (violin, viola, cello) and as a violin and cello duo. A trio or duo is something that you might think about if space and/or budget is a factor. If you have a small, intimate wedding or event then a trio or duo would be perfect. Most of our quartet repertoire is also available as for trio and, as most of our trio arrangements are done by our players, retain as much of the fullness of the quartet sound as possible. Our duo arrangements are also bespoke and capture the essence of the songs through the melody and bass.
